Hail Mary IVF Results...

The Bad News:
I got pregnant once again but had another chemical pregnancy (early miscarriage). This makes my 5th consecutive loss and I am totally stumped, as all of my immune tests are normal.

The Good News: My clinic froze 7 blastocysts (advanced stage embryos) for future use. Now Brian and I have to decide if we are going to do a Frozen Embryo Transfer into me here in the US, or save those Frozen Embryos for India. The issue with the frozen embryos is when will India lift the ban on shipping embryos and sperm?

THOUGHTS Blog Family??

Oh on an even more positive note we have narrowed our clinic choices from three down to the last two FINALISTS!!! Within the next few months we will be ready to start making some moves...

Stay Tuned...

  1. Sorry about the loss :( Seven embryos is a great number though. I heard the shipping problem only exists for things going in through certain airports. Something to clarify with the clinics you're looking at as perhaps there's another route.

  2. I am sorry for your loss, that is just unfair. YOu can definitely get your embryos through Delhi Customs. SCI has had eight + shipments the past month or so. Contact Core Cryolabs and see if you can get through Delhi then on shipped to the clinic of your choice.

  3. Sorry to hear about your loss. Why does this work so easily for some?!? I agree with Amani, check in Delhi Customs. I have heard several people shipping through there. Whatever decision your heart leads you to, good luck! I will be watching for updates. :)

  4. I work with a cyrobank that ships frozen embryos to India. You know my number.

  6. I'm so sorry you had to go through another loss. I can't imagine how difficult it must be. After all our miscarriages I did a little research into immune issues and kept on finding conflicting information. I think there is a lot researchers simply don't know yet as to infertility and immune issues. If you do decide to ship your embryos, I would recommend making sure that the clinic you choose has a lot of experience with frozen blastocysts and can provide whatever thawing medium your US clinic used. One lessen Brian and I learned is to not ask Indian doctors "yes" or "no" questions. For example, instead of asking an Indian clinic if they have experience working with blastocysts, I would recommend asking how many times they have worked with blastocysts created and frozen at a different clinic. Then I would ask what was the success rate from just those transfers. Then I would ask your US clinic what thawing medium they recommend and ask the Indian clinic if they have the same thawing medium. This is just our experience, but it did seem to help us.

    Hugs,
    Amber
